Lewis Property Investors, Inc. and its principal have been active owners, merchant builders and developers of commercial and residential real estate since 1974. The Company’s commercial developments include office and retail projects. Residential developments undertaken by the company include for sale and rental properties as well as land development for planned unit communities, sub-divisions, and tract housing projects. The Company’s primary geographic focus has been throughout Florida; however, it has undertaken significant projects in Georgia, North Carolina, Colorado, and California. Since its foundation, the company has been involved in commercial projects totaling over 1,900,000 square feet and residential developments totaling over 600 units.

Avatar had assets in excess of two billion dollars and employed over 1,500 people. Beginning in early 1981, Mr. Lewis became the company as President and Board Member and member of the Executive Committee. In 1984, Mr. Lewis resigned as President of Avatar Holdings, Inc. and its related subsidiaries and continued to serve the Company as a Director and member of the Executive Committee until 1986.
