James Barrett

James is originally from York, PA but made his way to Pittsburgh in 2008 to attend Point Park University. While at PPU, he was lucky enough to perform works from renowned choreographers such as Doug Varone, Trey McIntyre and Kevin Iega Jeff.

Since graduating, James has worked with several Pittsburgh-based companies, namely Attack Theatre, August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble and Texture Contemporary Ballet, with whom he performed at Jacob's Pillow Dance festival in July of 2013. The great opportunity to work with Visceral Dance Chicago just recently brought him to The Windy City!

James absolutely loves working with this diverse, talented group of artists that comprise Visceral Dance. He's very appreciative of his family and friends and would like to give a special thanks to his mother, who has given him nothing but positive support since the beginning!
