The glamorous era of the Old South when chivalry and romance were paramount in society. Styled around the best-selling novel of the pre Civil War era, the evening opens with arrival of guests to a grand cocktail reception featuring mint juleps and blackberry wines.

 

Decor and ambience are established by large faux magnolia trees with moss garlands overhanging the perimeter with large white columns to establish a plantation elegance. Arrangements of lush tropical greenery set with whitewashed garden walls and picket fences covered with cascading bougainvillea and wisteria...

 

A string quartet plays quadrilles and other period music during arrivals and reception as debonair gentlemen in pre-civil war uniforms, period style riverboat gamblers escort elegantly dressed young ladies in hoop skirts and parasols·coloration for the event is styled around silver, greys and blues with accents of deep burgundy, velvets and plush drapings to set a mood of elegance. Dining is announced by liveried waiters in period dress carrying tinkling bells through the reception area. Tables are sumptiously dressed with full length blue covers and overlays of silver and print lames. Large magnolia blossoms on beds of cypress moss serve as centerpieces. Evening segs into a Broadway stage performance of songs;' Dixi'e, When Johnny Comes Marching Home', 'Swanne', etc. and closes with 'America The Beautiful'.
